Sorry if i say something wrong but i see krita funding too low and in next years that hard to survive and update! Fund is here where you can see.
we should Make Features like People can aniamte or works with pipeline easy or something around this, Like
Animation Tools (vector base)
Anime / cartoon (character Design) easy design
Pipe lines for Game dev and Video (anime production & movie) - working with other softwere
This is big changes and also needs lot’s work and money, but it will help you to grow, as starting we can Focus on Youtubers will you for animation Because this will help lot’s As starting to grow and get fund, This whole comment around video and vector, not inlcuded poster and art design.
If we get attrection from content creators or streamers may be can grow faster.
my suggestion is find out that Topics/bugs/features related to this, and takkle or update with small fix, small features. which can get eyes on peoples. youtuber/creators (individual or small team) will make tutorials or videos/movie. this will help you lot’s for krita development fund. or next future.
Every few months someone comes with big ideas how to make Krita popular or “improve it biggly” and except doing a post on the forum and perhaps replying some times, no effort is put in by themselves. Krita is a community project, pretty much anyone can participate and contribute in some way, even small contributions count, not everything has to be code. The core team is not that large and their main goal is making the software work properly not make it famous.
@cowc2 Krita had corporate sponsors but their money was also tied to a dedicated feature. After it was implemented and the sponsors got their PR for funding a small Open Source software, they vanish into thin air. Sponsorship does not help if it is short lived and tied to hyper specific goals only the sponsor really benefits from.
Wow, the next new user who exactly knows what Krita lacks and how it can be great.
Or in short: “We should make … or … … or something around this”, yeah that’s what I call a clear vision. But to be honest, it sounds like someone talking after smoking far too much pot.
Good night Krita!
I’m not here to argue with anyone, and I’m not looking for appreciation. I started this thread to learn and to discuss where Krita can improve and where it might grow stronger in the future. My intention is not to criticize Krita negatively(as some people thinking now). I use Krita myself, and I care about its future — especially its funding and long-term sustainability. When I mention big ideas, it’s not about saying “Krita is bad” or pretending I know everything.
It’s about asking: where are the pain points? what can be feature? What makes it harder for new users? What could make it more attractive for wider use? Sometimes people who use Krita deeply can see workflow issues that outsiders don’t notice. That’s the perspective I’m trying to share — not complaints, but opportunities for improvement.
My focus is simply this: how can Krita grow stronger, gain more users, and secure better funding for the future? as spimlicity please stay discussion about part of community growth.
keep this discussion focused on features users need and ideas to improve Krita’s funding and future. If anyone wants to argue personally, please open a separate thread or personal and tag me there.
You can use the forum search and find that topics like yours have been created multiple times already. All of them attracting personal opinions and yielding no results beyond that. This is going to be just another one, that’s probably why no one really wants to reply anymore because everyone has brought their opinion to the table already, multiple times, long ago.
