Dog and Butterfly

As I was taking photos of my dog, Jodi, lying in the sunlight, a small butterfly suddenly landed in front of her and she looked down at it. I snapped the shot and liked it so much I had to paint it.

Thank you! I am still fairly new to digital art myself. I was, and still am, intimidated by some of the better artists’ work on display here. But I just keep trying to learn from them and work on finding a comfortable style of my own that I like and go for it. Painting something quickly every day helps a lot. Please participate in the Monthly Challenge (contest) here. It’s a lot of fun.

Outstanding brushwork. Fresh and crisp capture of light and shadow with simple brushstrokes. The scene have that little extra too. I love dogs.

Of what I can see you got the hang of it.
My experience is that focusing too much on technique will cloud your heart and soul.
Don’t let technique overpower the joy of creating.
