Editing Brush Pallet

Can various brushes be removed from the Pallet? There are a lot that I do not use.

Thank you, - geomooart

If you mean the pop-up palette (what appears when you right-click on the canvas) the brushes that are shown there are determined by the tag that is selected (by default its “my favorites”. So either you remove the brushes you don’t need from the tag group, change the tag group or (probably best option) create a new tag group by tagging the brushes you want (for example tag them as “geomoo’s favs”, then select “geomoo’s favs” for the pop-up palette.

More about it here:

The Button you have to press to change the tag group for the pallete is the little :label: icon (green in this diagram)

Is there another way to add and remove brushes from the Presets?

You could create your own bundle from the ones you use and leave out the rest.
But you should do this carefully. I would start by unpacking all the bundled resources into their respective folders to make sure Krita can copy the needed parts from them into the bundle you are creating. And after creation, you can delete all resources except for the newly created bundle.

What other way could you need? You mean you want to actually delete brushes from Krita? Isn’t that overkill just to get the pallete right?

Simple tagging can do all what you want, you just have to do it. Tag them with whatever tag you want and select that tag in the popup-palette.

You can select that tag in the brush preset docker too, and you will always only see brushes with that tag. When you delete resources you can accidentally also delete tips and textures needed by other brushes and break them. Alternatively you can disable all of Krita’s resources in the Resource Manager, and you will have absolutely nothing and have to create all the brush presets you need yourself from scratch if you didn’t bundle the ones you need into their own bundle.

I am not planning on deleting brushes from Krita. I am tagging the brushes that I use most of the time. “Favorites”, “Paint”, Sketch". - geomooart
