Enclose and Fill: defaulting to black fill different from BG and FG colours

Hi all;

Just posting here to confirm I encountered what seems like a bug to do with the wrong colour being used in the enclose and fill: Black, which will happen regardless of whether I have black in my foreground or background pallet.

I’m guessing this is not expected behaviour for anyone else?

I haven’t yet figure out how to perfectly reproduce it, so here are as many details as I can think to share:

Krita 5.2.2 (latest stable.)

Distro: Nobara 39 Official KDE (based on fedora)

-GFX: GTX 1080
-CPU: Xeon CPU E5-2690

More than enough cache space on the HD.

GPT couldn’t find anything in the log related to issue around the enclose and fill tool.

The only thing it seemed to care about were the safe assert messages like:

It should use the fg color as that is what tou selected on the options. Please fill a bug report.

And it will never find anything unless it got fed thousands of logfiles with meta data about what everything means. ChatGPT is not intelligent nor can it figure stuff out on its own.

However I wonder which color it fills when the outline would have a different color.

Unfortunately the problem resolved itself and I couldn’t find a way to reproduce the issue, so I’ll have to wait till it comes back in order to test with different line colours.

Based on the assumption that I have not fed in data, sounds like you think I’m using plain old GPT. I’m training a bot using my 12 years of VFX knowledge. AI work became a big aspect of my previous employment; not to say I mastered it but I’m no novice either.

Anything this bot can do reflects largely on my abilities and knowledge though.

That being said; I actually stand to benefit from you proving my bot training as inadequate if you manage to find the issue in the log that the bot could not.

So be my guest; log included below; Not including a bunch of older stuff I fed in as it was just this day that I observed the error. (Also the 40k char limit).

If you encounter the issue again, please write a detailed bug report, and I’ll look at it. I could not reproduce the issue. That log is not really useful since I have no way of knowing if those safe asserts were in any way related to your operation with the tool. It is better that next time you try to identify exactly the sequence of actions you performed (I know that one is not constantly thinking of that when, say, painting, but that’s the way it is).

Lol yeah I know, and reproduction is partly why I did not immediately go to report a bug. But it still didn’t hurt to start documenting my attempt to track the bug here in case someone else finds this and has more information on how to reproduce. Otherwise anyone with the issue might assume they are the only one encountering it.

Now hopefully I’ve done enough groundwork to prompt the next person with this issue to figure out the rest.

I’ll be back here if I can reproduce the issue.
