Engrenageurs

The word “Engrenageurs” came from the French term “engrenage“ thanks in part to a blogger.

It was coined for the Cogs from Toontown Online and fan-made recreations of that MMO.

Here’s an image of the Judicial Astrologer, a Dark-Sky-themed original character.

And before that, a rough sketch.

I feel shy about having her and the Wiki-Magician OC at Art Fight.

But here’s this: they’re a sapiosexual duo akin to a laotong, a cultural practice from Hunan of China. About the headwear, the Judicial Astrologer wears a jobawi, which I have seen when I used to play Maplestory. She has yet to have a Korean-style name to go with her Suit name.

The purple lines come from the Taixuanjing, and the red lines come from the Yijing.

This will make a cool sketchbook. Can’t wait to see what you add to it.

Here’s a sketch of a card game, which is hopefully Ocean’s Eleven to my best understanding, between the Land Acquisition Architect and the Chief Operating Officer Ottoman from Toontown: Corporate Clash.

It was made on two consecutive times I won’t specifically name, but I was shedding tears as I sketched the Land Acquisition Architect and his side of the table with a mouse. (I would like to try a tablet, Wacom or not; it has been many years ever since I tried a tablet used for making digital art, when I was in in high school.)

Like it is written elsewhere, Ocean’s Eleven could be called bluff battle.

Here’s one initial illustration of the Judicial Astrologer’s head.

Thanks, DeviantArt user Glimja, for sharing an illustration that inspired it.

@ynr_nohara , since you liked the sketchbook, have you considered experimenting with making illustrations based on anyone’s depiction of the Cogs from Toontown Online and fan-made recreations of that MMO? What about a mash-up of them, Dungeon Fighter Online and maybe TRICKSTER Online and Maplestory?

I haven’t played Toontown online, but I have drawn character from Dungeon Fighter Online, was it the female striker? It is from long time ago . I think I have also drawn my player character from Maplestory. Unfortunately I lost many of my files due to broken HDD, but I think there is some WIP of them somewhere on the internet .

I hope you keep going with this sketchbook thread, It reminds me why I start learning to draw. If I wasn’t too sick I probably drawn video game fanart consistently, create my own headcannon for the world of the video game I like.

That personal situation sounds difficult.

At least you may find these three DFO-inspired magical girl OCs interesting.

Here’s my personal take on the Cold Caller, one of the Sellbots from the original Toontown Online.

That shirt is technically a Winchester shirt.

Here’s a rudimentary sketch of a Penny Pincher Cashbot being fought by a bear, who has the word “huckleberry” in her name.

If Kiki of Krita were a Cog, then she could go by the Suit name “Purple Squirrel” and have red roses instead of the flower buds.

I chose to have only the Penny Pincher Cashbot in the image.

I should have darkened the mouth and eyebrows.

Line-art of the Wiki-Mechanic Bossbot

For anybody who has any questions about the original characters, I prefer to answer them in direct or private messages, mostly.

@Dima, since you liked the line-art, I figure you may like the fully colored version as well.

Here’s a bust of a Lawbot skelecog from Toontown: Corporate Clash.

For the Sketchbook of Oddments, I have something from the PC game Sol Cesto in mind.

@TBs_thename and others interested, what do you think about this head of a Purple Squirrel?

(The flowers are lilac flowers, and the circle is where the unicorn horn will be drawn.)

I think it’s a genius concept! Can’t wait to see the final result :+1:
