Eraser Tool Not Functional

Type of device* : Laptop
Brand and version of the device:
System** : windows 10 64 bit

* graphics tablet/display tablet/2-in-1 laptop/Android tablet
** Windows/Linux/Mac/Android, + version (you’ll find it in Help -> Show system information for bug reports)

Description of the issue (you can include screenshots): Hello, I’ve downloaded the krita software. I tried to draw on a vector layer but the eraser tool is not working. I’m not able to erase anything. How can we fix this issue? Best Regards

You cannot simply erase parts of a vector shape. You have to use boolean operations.

Please take a look at this topic:

Depending on the desired output other ways are also possible, all mentioned in the linked topic.

Thank you for the quick response . I’ll check those options

There’s one solution that is not mentioned and I’m using: adding a transparency mask on a vector layer allows to do “erasing” (but means that you can’t draw anymore on “eraser” part)

It was mentioned :stuck_out_tongue:

Aaah right :slight_smile:
I read the long post linked, and didn’t scroll until the last post :sweat_smile:
