Failed to import resources - cannot import my ASE swatches into the palette

So I am getting this error message when I try to import my ASE swatches (they do not contain any gradients) on Krita 5.1+.

Does anyone else know why this import failed? I used to be able to do import such files in Krita 5.0.
Link to the palette: QGIS non-gradient.ase - Icedrive

I downloaded that file and it Imports ok in Settings → Manage Resources with the 5.1.1 appimage:

QGIS-Imported

I’ve no idea why you are having a problem with it.

Yeah Idk either. As I said, it used to work fine. Could anyone on Windows test this?

@AhabGreybeard would you mind exporting it out for me in Krita’s format?

I put it into a bundle file, deleted it from krita, restarted to make sure it was fully removed and then imported it as a bundle (Settings → Manage Resources Libraries → Import) and that was fine.
However, inside the bundle it’s stored as the original .ase file which may be a problem for you.

Here it is so you can try it via a bundle import:
QGIS-non-gradient-palette.bundle

Did you try manually putting the .ase file into the palettes folder then restarting?
You could also try putting the .bundle file in the /krita resources folder then restarting.

I’m on Windows 10 now and I’ve just downloaded it then done Settings → Manage Resources → Import with the installed 5.1.1 version and had no problem with that .ase file.
It would seem to be a strange problem on your computer :frowning:

I can import it in yesterdays NEXT and the current Release of Krita without issues under Windows 10.

Ah, I see. I used the import function from within the palette docker itself. I did not use manage resources.

I also noticed that I am unable to remove a palette from within the palette docker and when I manually removed the file on disk the palette is still shown.

I do still have to test the resources method and will report back when I get to it. Thanks for the help!

You could try quitting krita, deleting the .sqlite database file and then starting krita to rebuild the resource cache database.

Manually adding the files to the Palette folder did the trick. Weird that it didn’t manage to import it though. When I restarted Krita it eventually also deleted the swatch that didn’t before. All solved.
