Lines (mostly) traced from a photo I took. ![]()
Pretty cool, Iām guessing itās āfakeā because you traced it. Which is okay for studying, no matter what some might say.
Now the next step is to do one without tracing
. I did a study of a similar location and it was one helluva workout on perspective.
āFakeā mostly because I didnāt do it on location. I actually drew about 1/3 of the image traditionally first, but I didnāt like how the colours turned out. Mostly because I was using a very limited selection of water colour pencils and was too lazy to blend nice colours together. So this was a great way to experiment with different colours without doing the line art again all from scratch. (I should probably just by a water colour set alreadyā¦)
Oh yeah, editing traditionals drawing in digital is something Iāve tried only recently, itās really insightful.
Ah, I think what I wrote was misleading. I didnāt use the traditional artwork at all, itās just that the tracing was mainly because I couldnāt be bothered to do it all free-hand a second time. In retrospect, I could have scanned the line art before applying the colours.
