The title pretty much says it all.
It’s pesky to re-select it every now and then when I only use 2 or 3, because so many file types are available in the list.
I want to set it like this for instance:
Saving : .krz
Exporting: .png

Huh, I just realised I’ve never used the dropdown since I just type out the file extension. I have to type a file name anyway, so adding three more letters is the quickest.
Yes, people have different ways of using krita.
I find it pesky e.g> when I have to edit and save files constantly and repetitively to check how it looks with other elements. (twitch overlay, texture editing, etc)
I would like to see .kra as default for save as it already is but the ability to choose a fixed default for export. I generally have no use for any file type other than .png for my finished work and postable work.

That is interesting. My Krita always offers the last used extension in “Save”, “Save as” and “Export”? And should I really save once in between in a different format, so it is only 1-time I have to re-select my usual used extension. Is that different for you, or is this 1-time re-adjustment too much?

As long as Krita is open it keeps .png as the default export because that is what I use, but if I close Krita then open it again later, it defaults to .kra. It’s not a big issue but it would be nice if I could just set the default for my own purposes.

It seems it tries to remember the last used format, but sometimes it’s reverted to previous formats or changed.
Anyway, that’s not the point of this feature request. (I may have not explained it clear enough) What I’d want is to be able to set a default format selected for every new save/export, while being able to select something else manually.

In that case, it’s something that needs to be set in the preferences dialog, in the General/File Handling tab.
