I’m on this forum since forever now and naturally I already used up all the votes I have a long time ago for different feature requests. There are still new good ones coming I would like to vote for but I can’t unless I give up on features I already voted for (some of which are my own requests).
Can we maybe get a vote refill every now and then so users that are on the forum for long can still vote on new stuff?
I get votes back from time to time from the feature requests that have already been implemented, and so I usually have 1 to 5 votes available, and I can’t say that I hoard the votes. But I had a short time that was “hard” for me, when the forum software deleted several of my existing votes due to an error, and it took some time until they were restored.
In addition, there are always feature requests that have already been implemented where the forum software apparently gets stuck and doesn’t release the votes, as with these feature requests that I voted for and which are closed. There are votes waiting for me here, so to speak:
Flexibility adjustment of Background Color Which started as a Feature Request but is in Basics & Interface now. @raghukamath would you be so kind to release the votes cast on this “no longer Feature Request”, because here we normal users can not release our Vote, because there is no Vote button anymore because it has no longer the status “Feature Request”.
Every user can check which of their votes have not yet been released again in their profile under “Activity” >> “Votes”, as all implemented feature requests that are closed can be recognized by the lock symbol in front of the respective entries in the list. You can then call up these votes yourself and retrieve them by clicking on the Vote button and selecting Remove Vote.
Perhaps it would also be neat to reward users with additional votes for example when they do community support and their post gets accepted as a solution?
It’s also a bit cumbersome to manually check and remove votes for implemented feature requests. I would expect this to happen automatically.
There still could be a cap on the max amount of votes you can get back but I don’t see why people doing community work should not get some bonus votes, it’s not like one can vote on the same thing twice or something.
But in the end it all depends on if the Voting plug-in can even do this.
