I have a new guess: @Lynx3d says “wash” uses the blending mode “Alpha Darken” to blend the dab, which is separate from the blending of the canvas. So can we use “lighter color” to blend dab?
The image above is the result of “build up” and “lighter color” together. Earlier I had stroked the dab pattern and then used it as an RGBA brush. But it doesn’t mix well with the colors on the canvas. I wonder if this could be an inspiration for a new option or brush engine.
