Featured artwork nomination process is NOW OPEN to all Krita-Artists members

Up until now, only members at level two and above have been able to make nominations and vote in polls to determine which artwork would be posted in the featured row. We thank all of you who have been participating and making this a success.

All Krita-Artists members are now eligible to make nominations and cast votes.

It’s time to make some changes that simplify the process and open it up to all Krita-Artists members. Starting today, all K-A members are able to nominate their favourite images and vote in the resulting poll.

No more individual polls for every nomination.

Hurray, no more calculating those crazy dates and times in the poll codes! Instead, you will submit your nomination into a monthly thread and K-A moderators will create a poll capturing all nominations – much the way we do for the monthly art challenge. The entire process will be transparent as all submissions and votes are in one place.

Announcing the monthly “Best of Krita-Artists” submission thread and poll

Each month, around the 15th, we’ll post a submission thread. K-A members can make one submission in each monthly thread. Once the deadline for submissions has passed, the poll will open for voting. The four images receiving the most votes will be inducted into the featured artwork row.

Best of Krita-Artists – 2024

In January 2025, we’ll hold an additional poll to name the best of the best from among those featured during this calendar year. Watch for further details in the coming months.

Guidelines

  • Forum members may make one nomination per month.
  • You may not nominate your own work.
  • All artwork published in the Artwork:Finished Artwork category is eligible. The only exception is artwork that is already featured (look for the “featured” tag next to the post title).
  • A poll will be created containing all the nominations. Members may vote for up to four images.
  • The top four images by poll results will be added to the featured row in the gallery.

Watch for the new submission thread… Coming soon!

EDIT: Here is the first submission thread. We’re ready for nominations.
