Feedback needed from Krita users who speak Arabic or Hebrew

There is one bug report and one merge request that we really need feedback from people who use an RTL language with Krita:

If that’s you, please help out!

Looking this topic:

I think you can ping @Oliver_Mendes for feedback

well here is a bug report: this is all wrong
it should be
نما تصویر لایه برگزیدن
but the underline messed it up and it’s this right now:
ن‌ما ت‌صویر ل‌ایه ب‌رگزیدن

also most people think people who use RtL do EVERYTHING in RtL. It’s wrong. math and most academic stuff (tables, charts, etc) that we learn use LtR.
so seeing this in RtL:

is not that odd for us to have it as a “must” like this:

I can even give you a full example by sending the ui team a book from chemistry that has a lot o similar examples.

so I think the first bug I mentioned is way more important to resolve.

Thank you for the feedback. The Alt key accelerator seems to be the problem. Do you know how other software show those underlines when you press Alt keys?

There is no UI team, we are mostly volunteers  and the person working on this is also a volunteer doing it in free time.

It’s even broken on LibreOffice (first line)

The 2nd line is how it should be done correctly: (had to do underlines outside LibreOffice) ^

I think blender team had the same problem and avoid using it in Arabic and Persian:

The thing is, though… The menu text isn’t our code, that’s all done by Qt. What we specifically needed to know was whether to reverse the toolbox layout and the animation timeline layout, or not.

reverse the toolbox layout? YES
the animation timeline? NO

as I said before if it’s math and numerical related (like timeline) it has to be LtR.
