Indeed, very clean! And I like the posing.

However, I think you should really start adding backgrounds. This is really not that difficult for a character focused illustration like that and would immediately make it look next level. It doesn’t even have to be detailed, or even shouldn’t be detailed :grinning:

Hmm yeah ur right but I’m focusing on characters for now and their perspective

Fair enough. If you want to save time and move to the next one, it makes sense.

I still can’t decide what would be the best formula, just keep doing full illustrations or keep it simplified in some regards to iterate faster. Also recently I can’t seem to come up with anything that would keep me invested enough to sink 20 hours into… Probably a side effect from a practice mindset

On one hand I know my character skills are lacking so I don’t want to commit to a full illustration, on the other I know not going for a polished result will be less effective. Maybe I should try animation to force myself to draw a lot of consistent poses

Actually, there are also ways such as using a photo as the background and then adjusting it after the character drawing is complete and then adding a filter so that the character and background blend together.

And it can be done quickly without disturbing the focus of learning the character, it also deepens the perspective because it can be judged as a full illustration.

This is just one of many options, try it out at your leisure.

Im always going for the full render stuff to see how fast and efficient I am. And that’s one of my reasons to churns this pieces and I like to challenge myself

What! how?

There are many examples on YouTube but I forgot not to include them in the playlist, so what you need is to have a lot of photos either free from the internet (with a clear license) or you can use your own photos, which can later be added to the illustration.

I rarely use this method because I have to have a large collection of photos so that it is easy to find or determine which ones are suitable for the characters we draw.

for the filters that I mentioned in the previous reply, it is made simple just using layer blending mode or effects that are often used as a complement for the last touch such as gausian blur.

ohhh will try someday then

Ayyyy Fern, lesgooo! Very clean and crisp! :ok_hand:

If you don’t mind my unsolicited suggestion, adding a simple background would definitely make her pop out more in the canvas. I like drawing characters more than backgrounds too, so I mostly avoided them, but I realized later that the contrast helps the main focus stand out.

If you’re willing to give it a shot you could try checking out Marc Brunet’s video. Takes like, 2 mins to do it tops.

Happy drawing!
