FFMPEG not found, no such file or directory

Okayyy so basically I recorded my drawing hoping to get a timelapse of my process.
I end up downloading ffmpeg multiple times and trying multiple diff ways for it to work
I was able to get at least a checkmark on the right of ffmpeg,

The way I did that was by going to an animation i’ve made, selecting render animation and picking the file. This worked, all the frames came out (although how that ends up being a gif? i have no idea)

But when I try to export my video, I get this

And if I try to go to the ffmpeg folder a different way it doesnt work at all (not found, doesnt give option to export)
In my C disk I have ffmpeg foler, then go to the actual downloaded folder, open bin, click ffmpeg
and that doesnt work and when I go to my other folders for some reason they arent organized the same way, like they dont even include the bin folder within it, and if they do sometimes there’s nothing in it

idk … plus i have exited krita multiple times so im not even sure it would export the video i had going the whole time..?

ya plz help

The screenshot of the error message you showed says “Export failed: FFmpeg message”.
It does not say “FFGMPEG not found …”.

The error message is from ffmpeg itself to tell you that it can’t find the specified input frame image files.
This is to be expected because the Export Timelapse window says “No frames to export”.

It’s important to have the original .kra file, which you created when the timelapse was recorded, open in krita in order to let krita know which timelapse recording you want to export to video.
Did you have that situation when you tried this?

According to the error message, it’s looking for frame images in a folder called 20250706175700 which means recordings from a .kra file that was created at 17:57:00 on the 6th July 2025.

Does that folder exist and does it have frame images in it? Apparently not.

What folders do you have in the KritaRecorder folder?
One of them probably has your timelapse frame images in it.

Also, which version of krita are you using? The current version is 5.2.9.
Your screenshot shows the Export Timelapse window with a Hold Last Frame for: option.
Instead, it should have Extend result for: and Enable Preview for: options if it’s version 5.2.9.
