Hello, this is my first time posting here.
Enjoy and thank you.

If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

Hello and welcome to the forum

That’s a very nice picture as an introduction.

I can’t give you any ā€˜artistic’ suggestions but I see a technical flaw:
In the mirror, the girl’s thumb is placed near the tip end of the lipstick.
In the bathroom it is at the back end of the lipstick.
Reflections can be confusing. Try this by using your own bathroom mirror or get someone to pose it for you

Hello Ahab.
First of all, thank you for taking the time to comment and give me suggestions.
That’s right on the spot.
Most likely because I took 2 photos for hand reference (Beginner’s mistake), and my anatomy is still lacking.
This is the first time I receive comments about my art and I’m very happy.
Thank you very much :face_holding_back_tears:

This looks really good for your first post and I love the hair and tile texture.
Personally, the breasts look a little too big compared to the rest of her, maybe if you made them a little smaller it would look better.
Other than that I think this has potential. Great job!
How long did it take you to make this?

Hi J2J.
First of all, thank you for taking the time to comment and give me suggestions.
It’s most likely due to my lack of anatomy, it drives me crazy sometimes LOL.
I still have a lot to learn
It took me 2 days to finish this one (8-10 hours).
Thank you very much.

Yes, anatomy is tricky to learn, but I’m sure you will get the hang of it.
I am interested to see what you will make next.
Keep up the good work

Hmm … I don’t know what your ā€œpersonalā€ preference is, but from a strict biological point of view, I find the proportions are well within the natural range (not a caricature).

(Don’t get me wrong: I have no personal erotic preferences regarding cup sizes. Taste doesn’t matter anyway in discussions about anatomic accuracy.)

For example, look at the young Kate Bush around the year 1980. (No silicone, of course.) She has a very gracile body.

So the proportions are fine, only the hands are not. I’m very careful when drawing breasts these days .
I will note that.
Thank you very much.

Yeah, one hand isn’t really mirrored …

You could make a surrealistic joke of it, hehe.

Recently I reread an old Lucky Luke comic; you know, Luke, the cowboy that shoots faster than his shadow. He sat at a Saloon bar, in front of a large mirror (where the Whiskey bottles stand). He was drinking a glass of beer. This drinking process was reflected in that mirror. Some bad guys were approaching behind Luke’s back. Luke smelled the danger, pulled his Colt, shot backwards, put the Colt back into the pocket – this process went so fast that the mirror wasn’t able to reflect the actual scenario. So his hand shown in the mirror kept on holding the beer while his actual hand shot with the Colt. – Great panel. Good old Morris and Goscinny …

Edit: Ah, just found it in the net:

Hmm, I get your point. But I can’t do that to this piece.
In my opinion, there are 3 kinds of situations typically drawn in front of a mirror.

First is actual reflection. (My intention on this)
The second is when reflection does something different than the reflector.(Like Luke)
The third is when reflection is an entirely different being. (Another personality or true form)

And I want to illustrate the first situation but failed because the hands don’t match up.
But I’m okay and happy to know where I was wrong, so I can reflect on that in my next piece.

You’re right, sure. The option with that Luke example wasn’t quite seriously meant :tropical_drink:
