thanks! it kinda just happened while i was painting, but its pretty awesome how it worked out! i think it also might be an optical illusion with the red being so saturated that it helps to “lift off” and appear to be floating, and also from the blue bounce light
It’s a very good drawing. The mother-of-pearl scales are amazing. I agree, I’ve noticed this hover effect several times in combinations of blue and red, and it’s on monitors.
