What hooked me up in Krita was the almost endless possibilities for tweaking pre-build brushes. It’s like refining your real brushes to meet a special requirement in a painting.

Well, I wish I could mask mistakes so well! 
Seriously, though, I do know what you mean. Like having a hard time with hands, so everyone has deep pockets to hold them 
But in all honesty though, you use your skill set well. Because even when you ‘resort’ to shadows, what you convey is truly compelling. I think it just shows the gift that’s there and if you ever get the time/ability to strengthen your understanding of horse anatomy - you’re gonna nail it!
