Flaming sword, or a sword on fire

What hooked me up in Krita was the almost endless possibilities for tweaking pre-build brushes. It’s like refining your real brushes to meet a special requirement in a painting.

The horse is so well painted, the whole painting is great. It’s like a close-up on an epic battle.

@eysselia Thank you!! :blush:

@selshi Thank you!!

@FireShepherd Thank you! I wish I had a better understanding of animal anatomy. I tend to overuse shadows to mask my mistakes.

Well, I wish I could mask mistakes so well! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Seriously, though, I do know what you mean. Like having a hard time with hands, so everyone has deep pockets to hold them :wink:

But in all honesty though, you use your skill set well. Because even when you ‘resort’ to shadows, what you convey is truly compelling. I think it just shows the gift that’s there and if you ever get the time/ability to strengthen your understanding of horse anatomy - you’re gonna nail it!

Thanks again for posting this one! Such a great choice for rider/horse combo.

P.S. So grateful your cats gave you the time to draw this one! :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:
