Hi all, I’m having a lot of trouble getting gestures to work in Krita in windows 11 with my external touchpad. The gestures don’t register at all in krita even though I can use gestures in all other apps that support them.
I tried disabling all the gesture features in windows settings, but all that does it take away gestures in all of windows.
As mentioned above it is a precision touchpad so I have full access to all the gestures of windows. There are no custom drivers as I assume it just plugs straight into windows’ existing touchpad drivers
When there’s no driver to translate gestures into keystrokes Krita can understand than it doesn’t work. Krita doesn’t do any gesture recognition by itself and only handles keystrokes and button presses.
What kind of gestures do you even mean? The term is used interchangeably with keyboard shortcuts sometimes I assume you mean patterns you draw with your fingers on the touchpad?
It would be useful to know other people’s experience of trying pad/tablet gestures.
Here’s mine:
On Windows 10 with version 5.1.1 and the Wacom Intuous Paint, I can do two finger pinch-Zoom and spin-Rotate. Those actions are not smooth. Nothing else works.
On Linux with the 5.1.1 appimage and the Wacom tablet, if I do a two/three finger swipe which zooms very smoothly, even though the canvas input settings are not set up for zoom with that gesture. Nothing else works.
It does seem that krita will respond if it gets the correct inputs but getting those inputs needs correct driver/device setup and I’ve no idea how to do that.
