G'Mic problem with pencil portrait

Software : Krita 4.4.8
System** : Windows 10

Hello,
I have a problem with part “pencil portrait” of G’Mic.
The image preview has the message :
Preview_error:
*** Error in ./fx_pencil_portraitbw_preview/gui_split_preview/*repeat/*local/*local/ ***
Command ‘apply_timeout’ : *** Error in ./fx_pencil_portraitbw_preview/gui_split_preview/*repeat/*local/*local/apply_timeout/*if/*local/ *** *** Error in ./fx_pencil_portraitbw_preview/gui_split_preview/*repeat/(…)/hardsketchbw/*if/*repeat/*local/ *** Command ‘resize’: Invalid argument ‘3,0,1,1,-1’.

If I click on Ok, a pop-up “*** Error in ./fx_pencil_portraitbw/*repeat/*local/(…)/hardsketchbw/*if/*repeat/*local/ *** Command ‘resize’: Invalid argument ‘3,0,1,1,-1’.” is displayed.

With version 4.4.8 on Windows 10, I don’t have a problem using the G’MIC ‘pencil portrait’ filter.

Can you upload a screenshot of the G’MIC window when this is happening? e.g:

Have you been using krita for a long time or have you installed it recently?

How did you install krita? e.g. Windows Store, installer .exe from the website, standalone .zip from the website?

Have you used the ‘pencil portrait’ filter before with no problems?

(I’ve changed the category of your topic. It’s not an Input Device problem.)

For my installation, I installed Krita recently (1 or 2 months ago) from the website (installer .exe).

But it seems that the problem is with my file… I tried to use the pencil portrait filter with another image and there is no problem. It’s okay, I think I will start my project again.

Thank you very much for your response .

That is very strange.
If you’re willing to share that image, can you make the .kra file available using a link to a file storage service (such as GoogleDrive etc) or a file sharing website?

It looks like you have version 2.9.9 and I have version 2.9.8. That is another puzzle.

I downloaded the latest version for Krita (2.9.9) from gmic.eu to see if the problem was present on this version (it’s the same).
After some tests, the problem appears on layers created with : Layer/New/New layer from visible

(The error message in the preview is not displayed every time. But, the pop-up with a click on “Ok” or “Apply” is displayed every time).

I can now get those error messages but only with the Windows 10 system, not with my Linux system.

As far as I can tell, it’s not caused directly by using a New from Visible layer.
It’s related to the use of more than one layer.

I was working with a single layer image and I had ‘Input Layers’ set to ‘Active and below’. That was your setting as well.

If I added another layer below the image, I got the error message.

By using Input Layers = Active (default), there was no error.
I have no idea why this happens.
