Good place to start art postings

Then you would already know that we dislike something. So, don’t think about it, all is fine so far.

I would sugest shezzyart and cara are really nice non ai art sites but if your looking for only portfiolo i would say artstation and behance, there is also card wich is more like wic. i would not sugest instagrame or dievanart they take your art you upload and feed it to ai, speaking of wich theres a new site poping up called “only human” its still small and they dont allow gifs or animations yet. Oh and there Vgen but you have to get a code and stuff.

You could also use a free Website maker/hoster like Neocities or Nekoweb. They allow you to create your own websites, hosted on their servers. They allow for the most customizability, are free and if you decide to switch to a payed domain, you can keep your original website.

The websites however need to be in HTML, but don’t worry, there are a lot of free templates out there you can use to learn or just simply customize the templates and use them as a website.

There are also plenty of tutorials online for html and css! (as in how to add images, how a html document is formatted…)

Here’s another suggestion. Mastodon… I’m now on mastodon.art. It took a while to get approved but worth it. The other mastodon server that I’m on is mastoart.social. (I got impatient about waiting on my 1st choice :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.)

(I’m Gymnart btw)

What about SheezyArt?

For anybody reading this topic, here’s also Cara in addition.

Both, Cara and Sheezy, were already mentioned in this topic, if you had read it carefully you would have seen it, only the links were not provided. But anyone able to think for themselves would have thrown it at their favorite search tool/engine and found it, and that although Sheezy was misspelled.

I would personally recommend fediverse (there is pixelfed and Mastodon and others). Just choose the instance wisely. Even tho you can migrate to another one later, still better to choose a comfy place from the start imo. I’d recommend also reading reviews, for example I’ve heard lots of unpleasantg stuff about that big art instance (which was recommended in this topic already), their admins seem to ban people for nothing while not dealing with real threats - this is just what I’ve read about it and what made me choose another instance.

BlueSky I will never recommend as they suspended my account right after registration because I use Tor browser and their bot responded with a daring request of my ID. Which is totally unacceptable behaviour so I will always strongly recommend against them.

Behance is owned by Adobe, so I myself dont use it for personal reasons but I would say ‘tis just not safe to use Adobe products in general (look at how they scam their customers, should be enough to ditch them, even if you’re ok with mega corps).

Tumblr afaik is a nice safe place, I use it myself but ‘tis still somewhat confusing to me bc it has algorithms. But I dont have any negative experience there so far.

I’m not sure what’s nowadays wiht Furaffinity, long ago I remember it had various artists and a huge SFW part with ability to just hide everything NSFW, and there were lots of SFW artists of all sorts - those who drew fantasy, portraits, fanart, animals, not just the furry culture. Not sure if it all stil exists but might be worth to check out!
