I’ve seen screenshots from other countries that received the 5.2 update in their Play Store last week. Canada is still on 5.1.5. Last update was January 5, 2023.
My Play Store app is up to date and receiving updates for other apps.
EDIT: (add) The Playstore screenshot for 5.2 was from Europe. A redditor posted it in one of the subreddits.
Pinging @sh-zam .

I believe this is on google’s part. Once the apk is submitted I do not think Krita devs have any control on it. Let us ask @sh-zam

That’s what I thought, too, so I kept waiting. I think maybe Google is asleep at the switch.
Google Play here in U.S. still has 5.1.5…
BTW… Was the crashing problem fixed (the one where users had to create another user profile to fix the crashing?

Interesting. If you go to play.google.com it’s 5.2 updated on October 5th, 13 days ago.

Yeah, it says it was updated October 5th this year but the description says, “This is a bug fix release”… It doesn’t say what version it is.

So odd.
Here’s the redditor’s screenshot from the Play Store 3 days ago showing 5.2.

Here’s the same screen but from my Play Store showing 5.1.5 today.

Hi, I looked into the releases, it seems like we’re doing a gradual roll out. Halla possibly selected that to see if users experience crash, since one of them is still out there with no way for me to reproduce it…
If we fix it, maybe we can do a 100%, so this maybe the only way to get reports through play store which give us insight.

Thank you, @sh-zam . I’ll remember that for next time and won’t worry about it.

Yes. It appears you can beat the roll-out if you go to the play store online to download it instead of the play store app. Good catch!

Google is still sleeping I suppose…
Just updated but I think it may have been better if it didn’t

I am from Canada, and just installed 5.2.2 to my Chromebook. However, after installation, it gives me a fatal error when I run it.

I have seen quite a few Chromebook posts like this.
Does anyone know how to fix an issue on the google play version of Krita. Every time I’ve opened the app it keeps on telling me that “Your application encountered a fatal error and cannot continue”. I use a chromebook for my laptop and the specific model I have is a ACER Chromebook 314. One day the application was working perfectly fine but the next time I tried getting into the app it hit me with that error message.
Please fix this I have an animation project I have been working on thats stored in the app
