Grids and proportion guides for the symbol libraries

Download link:
Grid_and_proportion_guide_symbol_library

To install: Inside Krita go to Settings → manage resources click on “import resources” load the “procomp_symb.svg” you downloaded and when prompted check “symbol libraries”

The library can be found on settings → dockers → Symbol libraries

This is a small symbol library I made to help with me with character proportions or when trying to put some compositional order to the chaos of my sketching:

The first five symbols are cranial measures to use with the Robert Beverly Hale cranial units

6 to 8 Are regular linear measures for 2, 3 and 4 steps. 09 is your regular rule of thirds grid;

10 - 16 are different variations to the Fibonacci ratio, the Phi rectangle and the 35 mm lens.

18 is a color wheel guide I use to drop color analysis data from a hue/saturation wheel.

19 to 22 are variations on the Dynamic symmetry rectangles √2 to √5; 23 is just some diagonals to perspective transform around my canvas and find the center of something.

This is my first try at making a symbol library for Krita so if anybody runs into a problem with any of these, please let me know!

Hey there! Thanks for sharing this with the community. It really helps in making interesting compositions. I’m curious to know how you make your own symbol library. Could you share how you do it please? :backhand_index_pointing_right: :backhand_index_pointing_left:

The linked topic, provided by @Michelist above, has Dropbox links that no longer work.

A quick explanation of that, if you're interested

After my personal ‘Dropbox disaster’, all my Dropbox links no longer work.
I tend to use Google Drive now because nowadays Dropbox makes me jump through security hoops (involving one time codes sent to my email address) before I can access the website.
Even the Dropbox client on my PC is behaving strangely so I can’t be bothered with it anymore.

Here is a working link for My-Little-Vector-Library.svg:

Here is a link for Minimal-MLVL.svg

The Minimal file is a cut-down version that removes all unnecessary ‘administration’ code but still works fine and still contains explanatory comments.

I’d recommend that you examine them in a syntax highlighting editor (such as Notepad++) to understand how they work and what they do. You can use an ordinary text editor but you get informative colours with syntax highlighting.

Edit: Add:
I forgot to include the link for the full original .zip pack, MyLittleVectorLibrary.zip:

Hey! I’m glad you found them helpful; To make the symbol libraries I used inkscape by following this tutorial The part about making symbol libraries starts at the 12 minute mark:
