Sketch:
This is my webtoon character, Kaito, from Tamed Rogue. This animation took me 4 days, and no, I’m not really an animator. I’ll show a screenshot of my setup, I suppose:
I know there are a lot of layers, but they REALLY HELPED. Especially with the hair. It made the process a lot easier!
Btw, everything is a LOT smaller on my art tablet, but I just took a screenshot from Krita on my big monitor.
Anyway, what do you guys think?

Nice work!
I could not see big screenshot, did you use transformation layers or drew each frame?

Thanks!
I drew the frames but I used the transform tool a lot. I have a layer for every chunk of hair, shoulders, head, and face.
Animation curves like to crash my program and they’re kinda laggy, so I don’t use them.
Keeping the layers separate and in groups helped me transform and liquify selections often.

I agree, i ended up having to do what you did on my current WIP.
Transformation layers are kind of weak and hard to edit in Krita.
IMHO i really think Krita needs to improve on Transform Layers

The eyes seem to be shrinking vertically when turning forward and the mouth and nose are dropping a bit to much.
Oh really? That was done on purpose. I wanted him to squint at the camera while turning his head in a downward motion. Perhaps I could have made him look back up in the end.
Yeah for sure. They need some work. For now it’s just better to export the group layers and key frame them in a video editor.
