Guys I am new here, is there any pen tablets that worth to buy?
Hi @huajiayi316 , I modified your topic and the category to better reflect what you’re asking about.
Can you share a bit more about the way you want to do your art? The choice of the device depends on many factors, starting with the budget, desk space, preferences… The list is endless ![]()
I always recommend this great resource to do your tablet research - Buying a drawing tablet | 7P Drawing tablets. It may be a lot to take in though, so give yourself some time to make a decision.
thanks, I will.
visual,2D…like that
Well, i can recommend ya h610x, i had only huions (h1060p, kamvas 16, kamvas 22 and this one), and HECK I LOVE IT MORE THAN SCREEN TABLETS!, but! If you want screen tablet then kamvas 16 (NOT PRO). Needs only HDMI and usb ports ![]()
Don’t know which OS you’re on, but on Linux I’ve run xp-pen deco 01, then 01v2, long term, and no issues. Just one USB connector. Good price too. Non-screen, which is really good for posture/painting.
It really depends on preference if you like a tablet with a screen or not. I started with a drawing tablet without a screen (a batterd old Wacom Bamboo), but felt one with a screen should be better. But as these are expensive, I got a used old Cintiq 13 (actually a 12WX before it with horrible colors) but it was very straining for both my eyes and my back (because of posture). I have also tried a 22’’ Huion, but somehow it never really was comfortable and I ended up using my Intuos Pro most of the time and sold the Huion. Like most things, you really need to try to find out what suits you best. I bought all of my tablets used to save money, and have not really had issues with it.
I don’t know how to use Linux does it need a special device for it? Like another computer?
Thank you for helping, I will search for them.

I don’t want to spend too much on it too, in China many pen tablets are soooo cheap that I can’t trust them, so I asked here
Intuos pro must be good I will try ![]()
The ones from Huion are good, and Xencelabs is said to be good too.

If you wanted to try linux, most computers can run it; can get hold of a cheap one to try linux out on, or run a live usb safely on your current machine (as the live usb doesn’t touch your current machine’s drive) … bear in mind, if getting a cheap machine to try linux out on, that Krita needs a decent cpu/gpu/ram. To try linux out, you’d need to burn a linux iso file to a usb, then boot up after telling your computer to boot from that usb [usually F2 to get into bios, then choose the usb] … then you’d arrive at the desktop and be running the live linux system from the usb, and you can see what it’s like. There’d be an installer icon on the desktop too; can either install/overwrite drive, or you can use it to install on a test computer.
Regarding the tablet, I can certainly continue to recommend XP-Pen. Used it on linux for years, but it’s not a linux-specific tablet. It’s mainly windows, as most tablets are … just lucky enough that it works fine on linux too!
When I tried a wacom it was worse than xp-pen, so cheap doesn’t always mean something’s bad. Wacom nibs wear out quickly and can cost a lot, whereas I can use 2 xp-pen nibs in a year, sometimes just 1 … 50 cost me about £10, I think, a couple of years ago … so one bag of nibs can last 25 years! Ugee display tablet from 2016 still works fine, and XP-Pen tablets are very affordable and very popular, so I wouldn’t judge decision on cost necessarily.
thanks
If you’re a hobbyist the Huion Kamvas Slate 10 I’ve just using will work well. For professional work it won’t do the job however, you would need a larger one.
I was doing all of mine on a 2 in 1 Chromebook. The RAM on it was only 2gb, you will get severe lag on canvases 3k by 3k pixels, and up. The Huion however is not lagging at all but it has 8gb of RAM. You can definitely tell the difference. I did pay $260 for the Huion. The Chromebook I paid $80 for, and it was a remanufactured unit.
I totally recommend getting the xp pen artist 12 pro which is about 190 bucks on amazon and if that’s over your budget then get the huion hs610 which should be around 50 bucks
