Hi, while I really love the interface of Krita, I am having some difficulty with the selection tool.
I have tried using all the shapes/brushes and the results are always the same. The initial line follows the drag of my pen but when I remove the pen from the screen instead of turning into the dashed line, the drawn shape just disappears?

Which version of krita are you using and which operating systems?
Can you upload a full screen screenshot taken while you are trying to make a selction?
Make sure that the Layers docker and the Tool options docker are fully visible when you are doing this. e.g.:
In addition, could you also check if Select > Display Selection is enabled?
