Help with ffmpeg set up

I’ve been having trouble with setting up the ffmpeg to export my speedpaints, I’ve followed YouTube tutorials but it never seems to work for me. The procedures I followed are:
-download a ffmpeg file
-open it with 7-zip
-extract file
-copy and paste on C:
-open file, go to bin and copy the name of file
-edit the system’s environment variables
-go to path and paste the file
-go to krita, make a quick sample drawing, and export to check if it works
-select the ffmpeg file on C: before exporting
-export
This is as far as I can go and it always ends up with this

I genuinely don’t know what’s wrong pls help

From when is this Tutorial? The latest Krita version has FFMPEG already built in and you normally don’t need to install it separately. Doesn’t matter if it is for a speedpainting or just a regular painting time-lapse (the recording doesn’t care about how fast you draw). The recorder docker should work out of the box.

So undo all the steps you took to install a different FFMPEG and just use Krita’s recorder normally.

The path to Krita’s own FFmpeg is c:\Program Files\Krita (x64)\bin\ffmpeg.exe, in case you may need it.

I have tried to simply just export without downloading or editing anything in my computer but it still failed to do so which is why I tried to look for a solution online, and the tutorials are from a year ago so I get why it could be outdated. But yeah nothing is working

What’s Krita’s version number and can you show us the export settings and the recorder settings? The invalid argument error messages indicates there are some settings it doesn’t understand

It’s version 5.2 2 and I left all the export settings and recorder untouched other than that I set it so that it records automatically after I open the canvas

This might be the issue.

The latest formal release is 5.2.6 and you should be using that, from here:
Download | Krita

Trying to make a timelapse video using the Recorder docker adds a layer of complication to any problems that might be related to ffmpeg.

Here is a simple animated .kra file. Please download it:
TestAnim-0-9-solid.kra - Google Drive

Then Open it in krita then do File → Render Animation and try to make an .mp4 video.
There should be no problems.

If there are problems, provide a screenshot of the Render Animation docker and make sure it is wide enough to show all its content.
(If you regard your username as confidential then you can blank it out.)
