Here’s how to add noise with GMic:
- Add a new layer and fill it with flat mid-gray (50%) color. Put the layer on top of the stack.
- Open
Filter > Start G'Mic-Qt - Go to
Degradations > Add Noise - Play with the settings, the
Scalewill probably be useful. Then finalize withOK. - Change the layer blending mode to
Grain Merge - Adjust the opacity to look well.
- Consider adding transparency mask (right click layer, Add) to apply grain selectively to parts of the image.
