How can I add grain and noise to artwork in Krita?

Is that how you get that grainy effect in artworks like this one? Are there other ways to do it?

Here’s how to add noise with GMic:

  1. Add a new layer and fill it with flat mid-gray (50%) color. Put the layer on top of the stack.
  2. Open Filter > Start G'Mic-Qt
  3. Go to Degradations > Add Noise
  4. Play with the settings, the Scale will probably be useful. Then finalize with OK.
  5. Change the layer blending mode to Grain Merge
  6. Adjust the opacity to look well.
  7. Consider adding transparency mask (right click layer, Add) to apply grain selectively to parts of the image.
