How can I have a paper texture on an image?

Uhm, how can you have your background that is the same as real paper?

EDIT from @tiar: this post was made in response to Eyes 00

You can use pattern files that have the look and feel of real paper, canvas, cardboard, wood, whatever else.
@RamonM just published a new set of ready-made templates which you can use instead of fiddling around with pattern files and setting them up correctly, you will find the link to those templates below the video where he describes them. You need at least the ZIP-File and the Bundle to be able to install these templates correctly.

Here is a little description I made for another user on how to install them:

By the way, if you are interested in more templates, @RamonM just published a pack of twelve new canvas templates named β€œPapers V1.0 - Classics” to get via Krita’s YouTube-Channel where he presents them in a new video. There you have to enlarge the video description with a click on more and follow the link below β€œDOWNLOAD: TEMPLATES :”, then you need to download at least the bundle and the ZIP-File.
To install the Papers V1.0 - Classics, you need to install the bundle β†’ then unzip the archive β†’ in Krita do Settings β†’ Manage Resources... there click on Open Resource Folder β†’ in the now opening dialog (a file manager window) copy or move the whole unzipped folder Papers V1.0 - Classics into the folder templates β†’ restart Krita and find the templates in the new Group called Papers V1.0 - Classics. Happy painting!

You may also be interested in another set of ready-made templates from him, Fine Arts Papers Templates, that you install in nearly the same way. Nearly, because here you do not need to install a bundle to use them, just unzip the downloaded file Fine Arts Papers Templates.zip and copy the unzipped folder Fine Arts Papers Templates into the folder templates β†’ restart Krita and find the templates in the new group called Fine Arts Papers Templates.

And here is an older set named Smart Canvas Templates for Krita where you have to open the KRA-Files contained in the ZIP-File in Krita like you open a document of yours, but here, before you do even a stroke on them, you should do File β†’ Create Template From Current Image in Krita to save them as templates, this way you will have them preserved for the future and can use them whenever you like. You could save them in one of the groups you created with the actions above to organize them.

The same can be done with these two files:
Crayons Paper
and
Simple DinA4 fibers toned paper
Just download and open in Krita to then save them directly as templates as described above.

Thank you so much. I tried and this look so nice.

Uhm, excuse me, sir. I downloaded your template, it looks so nice. However, how can I have a vertical one as when I pick the template, I can only drawn on horizontal one? Thanks for reading.

Simply do Image β†’ Rotate and select Rotate image 90Β° to the Right or Rotate Image 90Β° to the Left to rotate it 90Β° and then do File β†’ Create Template From Current Image in Krita to save it as a template in portrait orientation. Then, in the template saving dialog, and as described above, select an appropriate group or create one yourself, name the new template, let the icon be as it is shown or create your own icon for it, save it, done β†’ now you have it available in the orientation you like and spare you the steps to always rotate it before you can use it.

@raghukamath / @sooz / @Takiro / @tiar / @wolthera: Would you be so kind and cut out the postings beginning with post 4, that are not on topic about the artwork posted in this topic, and create an own topic of them, since this derails this topic more and more and fits far better in an own topic in our support area?
Thank you!

@lTheOneI, although I must admit that I contributed to the derailment of this topic, could you please try to ask questions like your original question, which are only loosely related to the topic of a thread, such as here, in a topic that you create in a suitable category, probably in a subcategory of our [support area](https:// Support and Advice - Krita Artists)? As required by our forum rules.
There you can put a link to the topic or posting your question is about, alternatively you can quote the part you like to ask on, so anyone can see what your question is about. This has the additionally benefit that you create a source of information that can be found by help-seeking users, because they will seldomly seek for information on using textures and patterns in our artwork categories but in our support categories. Thank you!
