How delete animation frame

Hello.
Some of my layers have an animation frame defined, I don’t remember when I did that.
I want to remove that animation frame so they are just normal layers, no animations.
If I click on “Remove Keyframe”, the layer loses its content and I lose my drawing.
How should I remove that animation frame without losing the content of my layer? I don’t want any animation frame.

Animated frames are very persistent nowadays and if you copy frame content to another layer in the normal way then that copied content results in an animated layer.

There is one way I know to obtain the frame content of an animated layer and to put it in a non-animated layer:

Make a new paint layer.
Select the animated layer and select the frame you want, which in your case is frame-0.
Do Select → All then do Edit → Copy
Select that new empty paint layer and do Edit → Paste into Active Layer

That will give non-animated content at the original location with the Transform tool activated so select the Freehand Brush tool to carry on painting.
You can then do Select → Deselect and then delete the original accidentally animated layer.

Yes, I know it’s a messy pain.

You probably opened the file in Workspace “Animation” (In Window > Workspace) by accident. Go to Window > Workspace and choose your Personal Workspace or Default. The file will return to normal.

This only resets the view mode, not the file, if you then switch back to the animation view you will see that nothing has changed in the file. If this were otherwise, you could very quickly destroy an animation.

I tried that but it didn’t work.
Thanks for the help guys.

• Michelist: The test I did was opening a file of mine, which was not an animation file. On the active layer, Krita here did something similar to the screenshot posted… and returning to the regular Workspace solved it. But if it didn’t, the file itself was changed…

• IndieDev: See if you have a backup of the file and restore.
