It’s exactly as the title, I need help getting a reference image.
There is Reference Image Tool. If you activate it you will see an option for that tool in the tool option docker. In that docker you can see the + icon to add new reference image.
You can also simply drag and drop any image into the canvas area, Krita will show you a menu which will have option to add the image as reference image. You can then manipulate this image with the reference image tool.
It wouldn’t let me drag a reference from the web, it said there was an issue and gave a list of issues. It was blank. I couldn’t find tool options before.
I think it depends how they’re ‘presented’ on the website page, i.e. what code is used to put them there.
Using the 4.4.3 and later Linux appimages, I can drag and drop some images from this website but not others which give a parsing error.
The top KRITA-ARTISTS.ORG image can’t be dragged on and used.
The Development Fund image underneath it can be.
An image from the featured gallery can’t be.
Opening an artwork topic page from the featured gallery, the image on the topic page can be dragged on and used.
User profile pictures in topics can’t be.
Edit:Add: If you’re using Edge or another Chromium based browser in Windows then there may be a problem with copy-paste of an image from a website, and presumably drag and drop.
You could try Firefox instead.
Or just Save the image to your Downloads folder then use the Reference Images tool to add it from there.
Yes move to desktop and then move to krita. That ussualy works on all cases.
