brand new here. totally lost. I just want help and can’t even find how to pst a simp[le question. My question: hoiw do i connect my new Repaper tablet to Krita which I downloaded yesterday? Maybe connect isn’t the correct term. I woeking on a new HP Omen 45L something or oother laptop. Thank you.
I’m not familiar with that particular device, but the process should be the same for any tablet: install the driver on your laptop, connect the device, then it should work. Depending on the driver and settings you have chosen there, you may need to select Wintab or Windows Ink under Krita’s tablet settings. (assuming you’re on Windows).
Hey, from the website https://www.repaper.org/, the tablet can be based on a popular mini motherboard/CPU (Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Arduino, LaunchPad). If the version that you have can run Linux, and if you downloaded the appimage, just right-click on the file, and go to propriety, in permission you can add the right to execute the file. (or on CLI ; sudo chmod +x yourfile.appimage
). After that you’ll be able to launch Krita with a double click.
But don’t expect much about it, the hardware running a repaper looks to be a lot underpowered to paint or draw smoothly on this type of Linux on a small board.
Maybe check Xournal or Mypaint (within preferences set in this last one to 1.x compatibility to avoid using the 2.x Pigment feature that might consume a bit too much of performances).
[EDIT]
This part, I re-read it a bit late, sorry

If you connect it to a laptop, then you need to use and tweak the driver provided by the manufacturer of the tablet to use it as a drawing device with your system (Mac/Win/Linux).
