Hi, I have attached an image and I have used sharpen filter but nothing else. I wish to desaturate the image, When I go into filters and hit on desaturate it turns black and white only. I wish to have controle over partial desaturation
Hello and welcome to the forum
Filter → Adjust → Desaturate does give total desaturation because that is what it’s for.
You can try Filter → Adjust → HSV Adjustment to have controlled reduced saturation:
Edit:Add: I’ve changed the topic title because this is a technical help subject.
Thank you
I warked it out but what is the key to deselect the mask after the operation?
It sounds like you decided to use a Filter Mask instead of using a filter operation on the image layer. (A reasonable thing to do).
If so, you can turn off the visibility of the Filter Mask or just delete it.
It would be a good idea to upload a full screen screenshot of this so your situation can be understood better.
So is everything ok now?
You can also do layer > flatten layer, to apply the masks into the layer in question.
Thanks guys, everything is OK now, only thins is I have no idea of the correct way to get rid of the lasso line thingy:)
Nobody knows what you mean and nobody will know until you provide a ful screen screenshot with the status bar showing, the Layers docker showing and the Tool Options docker showing.
The worm thingy
Hoping I dont need a full screenshot I hope. At the end of the operation I wish to delete it.
Quoting from the manual:
If you want to delete the entire selection, the easiest way is to deselect everything. Select ‣ Deselect. Shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A.
Thanks Crazy cat bird:) Thats exactly what I wanted
Providing a full screen screenshot is an essential part of helping people to understand what you’re doing and what is happening and so enabling them to help you.
More by luck than reading any information you’ve provided, I’ve just figured out that you’re doing blurring operations on the leaves.
i.e. you’ve started dealing with your other topic subject in this topic, which is supposed to be about image desaturation.
This can cause nothing but confusion and it has.
Noted mate thanks
