hi , I’m not sure how to get new brush sets , I’ve downloaded them but now don’t know how to get them on my krita . When I click on them it says not supported by krita even tough I downloaded it from the community page
Which brush sets exactly did you download?
How did you try to import them into Krita?
I guess that some of them came in an archive file like 7Z, RAR, ZIP, for instance, did you unpack these archives to get the bundles/resources they contain?
Here is my template for installing bundles:
A bundle is installed in Krita via the menu ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resource Libraries…’’ and in the opening dialog you have to click the button + Import in the next dialog browse to the downloaded bundle, select it and confirm the selection. Now Krita imports that bundle, and you can use its content, so the brushes in case of this bundle.
In case this BUNDLE comes in an archive-file, like ZIP or RAR for instance, then you have to unpack the archive to get the BUNDLE-File it contains, then you can proceed as described above.
And this is for loose (unbundled) resources, because these are imported a little differently:
Not bundled resources, like single brush presets, for instance, are installed into Krita via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resources…’’ where you have to click on the button Import Resources and then browse to and select the resource in question, click on okay, or however a selection is confirmed with your file manager, and the resource is installed. In seldom cases, you may need to restart Krita afterward, but usually you can use the resource right away.
In case of any further questions (how to unzip an archive?), feel free to ask, but please briefly provide all information we may need to give answers on a certain resource/case/issue where you are stuck. What is it that doesn’t work the way you want?
