How do I make my paper drawing into digital art with krita 5?

Hello guys! I was following a tutorial on “How do I make my paper drawing into digital art”. But some steps are different for me. I believe because they are different versions… I wanted to know if there’s a way to transform my sketch on paper into a diital one shown in the video… Is there another way? I couldn’t complete the tutorial because it was different and it got on a weird bluer border, hahahaha Well thank you!

(My weird art:

The technique shown in the video is for scanned images that have areas of grey in them.
It’s a crude technique that still leaves grey areas.

Your scanned drawing has good black/white with little if any grey areas so I don’t think that you need to follow that technique.
I’d suggest that you just use Filter → Colours → Colour to Alpha to remove the white of the image layer.
A green layer underneath it would help you to see if the white had been removed properly and you could adjust the Threshold value to get the best result.
After that, you can use Fiter → Adjust → Levels to make definite blacks.

Thank you!
That really helps

You’re welcome of course but I got that the wrong way around.

You should do the Levels on the original image to get the whites white and make the blacks more definitely black.
Then do Colour to Alpha.
Levels does not work well, if at all, with lineart on a transparent layer.

I tend to use inkscape for the bitmap tracing feature. It converts your linework into vector too so yoi can resize it however big you want.
