There is no quick fix, unfortunately.
Aside from courses and tutorials, I can only advice you to draw a lot. Draw, draw, draw. Get inspired by other artists and try techniques and styles you haven’t done before.
Hello @Nerdned and welcome to the forum
Is it a self portrait?
ok i will, thank you
Main thing is Practice! Practice! Practice!
Keep at it!
Self-critique each finished work and focus on what you want to improve with the next work!
I’m wondering whether you really mean painting or might you mean drawing?
Painting involves a host of skills and techniques - with drawing typically being an essential subset of that larger group of artistic expressions.
Assuming you really mean drawing, then as @Troken says above: draw, draw, draw …
One timeless resource that many have benefited from when it comes to improving their drawing skills is that classic text book (+ workbook) by Betty Edwards entitled “Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain.”
It has helped many folks (myself included) make giant leaps forward in their sketching, which will prove to be an essential aspect of bringing your artwork - yes, including your painting - to a whole new level.
Buying the two books (text + workbook) together is a superb combo.
