Another ARandomPage question stated right on the topic’s name. I want to rotate text (or other stuff) to make it look like it’s being viewed from a different angle. How do I do this?
You can rotate an image ‘out of the canvas’ by using the Transform tool - Free transform - Rotation and adjusting the ‘x’ and ‘y’ axis rotation values.
For text, you’ll have to convert it to a Paint layer first because you can’t rotate vector objects out of the plane of the canvas.
You mean perspective? Add a transform mask to the text vector layer and use free transform on the mask.
For some reason, using just the regular transform tool on my text with a changed filter so as to not autosharpen works. I don’t understand what you’re saying- Please Elaborate?
I’m not sure what you mean by that either. A changed filter?
Anyway - here’s an example image:
The red text has been rotated and is ‘flat’ in the plane of the canvas. It has been rotated about the ‘z’ axis. That’s all you can do to a vector object/text and may be all that you need or want to do.
The blue text has been rotated ‘out of the canvas’ by using the Transform tool ‘x’ and ‘y’ axis rotation controls.
That does not work on a vector object/text so I converted the blue text vector layer to a paint layer first.
However, as pointed out by @KnowZero , you can do this on a vector object/text using a transform mask (because the mask operates on the image projection of the vector object/text, not the object/tect itself).
Here is the red text, rotated out of canvas using a transform mask:
