Please let me know. I’m trying to draw, and I turned it on, not knowing how to turn it off. Thanks for people who reply!
In the Tool Options docker, when you have the brush tool active, there’s a drop down for Brush Smoothing. You can change that from Stabilizer to one of the other options (None, Basic, Weighted). Basic is the default, it will smooth the lines just a little bit without the performance hit of the full stabilizer, so it’s a good option to stick with unless you have really confident strokes and no troubles with input jitter from your tablet.
You can check out this page for a better overview of the smoothing options and their parameters. https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/tools/freehand_brush.html
I can’t find it. Please explain like I’m really stupid, because evidently I Am.
It is in the “Tool Options” docker. But you need to have the brush selected as the current tool. The docker must not be found on that side and place, I have placed mine there, yours could be on the right side, I only wanted to show how the docker looks like.

That’s what I have when going into the dockers… I’m missing something. o_o
edit: maybe it’s because you’re using oil krita?
I also still have the “old” Krita, but it looks so different with me because I have installed a lot of plugins.
But you have found the Tool Options with you, that was the important thing! Now you only have to set your settings in the Tool Options according to your ideas. Or did you want to tell me that you haven’t found the Tool Options yet? Then it could be that you have set them in the toolbar itself in the settings of Krita.
If you can’t find it, please take a screenshot of the whole window and upload it here.

Yeah, the thing - I found this and noone of these look like smoothing.
So you’re not getting anywhere, right?
If you get stuck, you should post a screenshot of your Krita window here. Of the whole window, don’t cut any of it off we need to be able to see what it looks like on your end to be able to help you.
So where is the screenshot?
I don’t see one…

@Xaith_Xaith You have the file ‘training.kra’ opened twice, in two separate tabs.
This is not a good idea because it can cause loss of work if you lose track of what is happening or get confused later.
I suggest that you close the left side one (which has had no changes made to it) by clicking on the X on the tab.
If you’ve done this deliberately because of a definite plan/intention then fair enough.
You have NO IDEA, NOT EVEN THE VAGUEST of how angry I am!
See, I was expecting it to be some system thing, and since I, an absolute newbie, pray to several gods I’m getting what I asked for, I clicked it precisely once on a different tool, thought “this thing is scary”, and literally never touched it until now.
“Some system thing” as in I mess up THAT THING and suddenly my paint bucket is suddenly spewing Jackson Pollock paintings!
I’m like 0.01% angry at you for showing me the INCREDIBLY DAMN OBVIOUS solution, 99.99% at myself for not trying… I think 3 months ago…?
edit: apparently this forum doesn’t allow anger, so I had to tone it down. For the original tone up the anger… about 30%-50%.
The Tool Options docker is a very important and useful docker.
It literally contains the options (settings/adjustments) for whichever tool you’re using. Get to know it
With the Freehand Brush tool, it just has the Brush Smoothing settings.
Other tools can have more complicated options.
With the Fill Tool (paint bucket), it is possible to make it ‘spew Jackson Pollock paintings’, if you have one or more Jackson Pollock style patterns available and use them (from the Patterns docker) with the ‘Use pattern’ option of the Fill Tool.
