i’m stumped, is it possible to rotate a drawing or a selection in krita, and not your canvas? my selection tool only allows me to move things around without rotating
Try right-click → Transform → Transform Tool.
Then move the cursor outside the content bounding box to get the rotation icon.
android doesn’t have right click imo (tryna get this working on a galaxy tab s7 with s pen)
I’ve changed the category of your topic to a more suitable one and also added the ‘android’ tag.
There are people on the forum who use Android tablets so if you wait a while, someone might come along to offer experienced advice about this situation
I’ve just remembered, right-click on the canvas activates the Popup Widget.
The activation of the Popup Widget is determined by the settings in:
Settings → Configure Krita → Canvas Input Settings → Show Popup Widget.
Use of a one finger tap is another way, according to the usual settings there.
Those settings can be altered or added to.
looks like i can activate the pop up widget, though not with the transform tool selected so i dont see how thatll get me any further. i’m starting to get the impression the android version of this program is just cursed or sum
There’s not enough developers to focus on android only, since the last dev left about a year ago due to life getting in the way.
If you know any android devs, they’re welcome to help. Otherwise, it’s not cursed; there’s just literally not enough manpower.
that’s valid, and with that small a team i’m grateful it works at all. As someone that’s used to a vaguely photoshop-like layout, its either this or burn 30 euros a year on CSP. For now i’ll keep messing with the settings to try and convince it to rotate
Update i’m a complete idiot and was using the wrong tool. for any fellow idiot coming from photoshop scrolling past this in the future: the transform tool is not the same as in photoshop. the icon looks different: don’t use the ‘move tool’, use the ‘transform a layer or a selection tool’
so nevermind all of that i found it
I’m late, you already found the answer but in case you can’t find something directly, always check the “tool options” panel.
For Android it is complicated at first because you work without keyboard, but almost everything can be done. For example, maintaining proportions when scaling an object without having to press Shift.
After a few years of using it, even though it is slower for certain things, I always find a way to do everything.
And if you can’t find something, ask, we are here to help or find the answer together.
I have tried all the drawing apps on Android, CSP It’s quite complex and poorly optimized for my taste. For someone coming from photoshop, krita is more intuitive. My personal top would be:
- Krita
- Infinite Painter
- HiPaint
- Clip Studio Paint
