How to achieve irregular shaped brush effect in Krita?

This is a brush I make in SAI2. SAI2 seems to have an option to control the brush shape. I didn’t get why using this brush shape image gives such a irregular brush result. These 3 lines are draw in one brushstroke each.

And I would like to do the same thing in Krita. I tried to add spin to the brush and it still looks not so well, resulting with something like this(still kind of regular compared to SAI2).

Do you have any idea about this? Thanks a lot!

It kinda depends on your brush shape and texture but take a look at the fuzzy dab “sensor” for size or mirror, maybe rotation too.

You could also try increasing the Brush Tip spacing slightly

Another possibility to give variation is to use an animated brush tip.

Have you tried the scatter option in brush editor? I usually use it when I need random distribution of brush stroke texture. You can tie the scatter-ness with pen variables. Very efficient when you need starry sky . Hope this helps

You’ll have to toggle both rotation and scatter (and maybe mirror), and set all of them to only use the ‘fuzzy (dab)’ sensor. You will also want to lower the strength on the scatter option so it doesn’t get so extreme. You can also try to use the masked brush tip options.

In the above, the upper pink ones are without masked brush tip, while the lower blue-grey ones are setting a textured brushtip on the mask brush option.
