How to copy vector text to other image vector layer

I have a 8 page storyboard document for a comic I am drawing. In this storyboard I made a vector layer with all text. Now I want to copy a number of text vector objects and paste them to a vector layer of another document.

But when doing this using CTRL+C and CTRL+V, the selected text objects are pasted as a new raster layer. I need them as vector objects on the specific vector layer.

How do I get them there?

Hello @Fedor_van_Eldijk and welcome to the forum

On a vector layer in document-A, if I select two text objects by using the Select Shapes tool or by using the Rectangular Selection tool, then do Ctrl+C, I can move to an open document-B and use Ctrl+V to paste those text objects into a vector layer there.
If I paste into a paint layer then a new vector layer with the texts in it is created.

So, I’m puzzled by your topic.
Is your situation exactly as described above?

Can you upload full screen screenshots showing each of document-A and then document-B for your situation?

The original document right before CTRL+C

The targeted document, right after CTRL+V

As you can see,the text is pasted in a bitmap layer

I suspect you are not copying the vector object. select the vector objects with the select shape tool ( the arrow icon and the first icon in the toolbox) and then copy paste

That is how I selected the text objects…

I think that the next stage would be to make two simple test documents with vector layers in them and to make two text objects in one of them.
Then try to copy text objects from one document to the other.
That is what I did and I had no problems.

Which version of krita are you using and where did you get it from and how did you install it?
Which operating system are you using?
(I use the 5.1.5 appimage from here: Krita Desktop | Krita with the Debian 10 OS.)
