A while back, I was asked to make a quick tutorial on how I created the rain animation seen over in this thread.
I got a bit busy with classes but did end up recording footage back then and finally found the time to add text yesterday. Here’s a quick 2-minute tutorial:
The gist of it involves using the move tool on a painted layer with Wrap-Around turned on so that you get a seamless transition of frames with no redrawing or guessing. This method was done with pixel art since it has been my recent downtime hobby, but I suspect it can be generalized to larger canvas sizes as well.
