I personally have custom shortcuts where I turned W into a Zoom on click combo and coincidentally I have 2 Layers that have names starting with W. Now, whenever I select a layer and press W without clicking anywhere else the active layer turns into one of those W named Layers instead, so is there any way to disable this?
I tried and failed to find a solution so I’m asking here. Please Help!
Guess what, you’ve found another bug 
I find that this does not happen every time but it’s annoying when it does happen.
It doesn’t happen if you first perform an action outside of the layers docker before you press the ‘W’ key (such as painting on the canvas, or selecting a brush preset) and it doesn’t happen if you press a key that is used for an existing keyboard shortcut.
However, it sometimes happens if you try to use W+click to rotate the canvas when you’ve just performed an action in the layers docker.
It sounds like some kind of race condition in the software.

The obvious workaround is to not use an alphabetic key for the canvas zoom action.
