Also depending on the style you choose you may want to study “how to draw manga“ book with this cover. I can highly recommend it as well.
Also, it’s better you to get a graphical tablet, even any cheap will be a lot better than mouse. Or you can draw and ink traditionally and then color digitally (I have a HOWTO for this if you wish)
