So i’ve been watching a lot of videos about how to use pastels in real life so I can get better at using these brushes in the Digital Atelier Bundle, but there is a certain thing that I can’t figure out how to do.
In this video I see that this person uses the pastels in a way that the canvas texture is still visible if you don’t apply a lot of pressure and don’t blend. How can I get this kind of texture or which one of the brushes I should use to get this kind of results?

Then you can try it with my improved version of @Pesi’s “Watercolor Page”, which you’ll find and can download from here →
But you have to use different patterns. I took them from the archive linked below, in the example above you see the pattern “Michelist - Canvas Cotton Linen - seamless.jpg”, but some of the “xara24 (Webdesigner Lab) - Fabric Seamless Patterns Vol. 3” and the “xara24 (Webdesigner Lab) - Free Denim Patterns” may be interesting objects too, for convenience and in order to use them I converted them to the GIMP-PAT Format that Krita can handle (the original website seems to no longer exist, but you can find it in the internet-archive → “https://web.archive.org/web/20200703175810/https://webdesignerlab.com/”, the 2 “Michelist”-Patterns are my own property, you can use them freely under Creative Commons (CC 0)). →
To use these patterns, you can make a copy of the “Grain”-Layer below the “Sepia”-Layer (or you use the Grain-Layer, if you are too lazy) and then go in this layer’s properties to assign a different pattern to it. Try to find a pattern you like, you can also use own patterns for this if you got such.

Thanks Michelist for sharing these great resources, my canvas collection has just been expanded in a major way!
I would like to add that next to Pesi’s watercolor page, @RamonM 's smart canvases are also great
Another great tip is that if you own Rebelle 5 you can easily grab their canvas patterns as well for use in Krita, they have some pretty great options
