When I want to make, for example, only three layers visible among ten layers, is there a way (button combination) to make only that group of layers visible without turning the others off (the other seven layers as in this example) one by one?
You can select multiple layers with Ctrl+click then you can do right-click → Toggle Locks and Visibility → Toggle layer visibility.
That might be useful for you in simple cases but it’s not precisely what you seem to want.
That’s still a way but the reverse way. LMB+a keyboard button to only make certain layers visible would be much more practical. Like, after you LMB+keyboard button to a layer, only that layer will be visible and after you LMB+keyboard button to additional layers, those layers will be visible too. That’d be a great shortcut in my opinion.
You can try right-clicking on the group and toggling “Isolate active layer”.
Yes, that somewhat works but you need to group layers first (and then ungroup them), which is not so preferrable. It is too much work just to make visible a group of layers. Group layers, isolate group, ungroup layers… There’s already a single layer isolate shortcut with Alt+LMB. All that’s needed is a “isolate selected layers” shortcut.
When you say “group”, I think you mean a selected collection of layers, not an actual Group layer that has other layers ‘inside’ it?
Of course, without the need to grouping layers (making layer groups) but just selecting them. Something to isolate a “multitude” of layers. P.S. I made a change in that sentence.
