How to restore the default workspace

I accidentally deleted the workspace in the upper-right corner. Is there any way to restore it to the default? I tried Settings → Restore All Settings, but it didn’t work. (Sorry for deleting it in the first place—I was just curious whether it could be restored.)

You’ll get it back via the menu WindowWorkspaceDefault.

Add/Edit: By the way, I moved this topic into Basics & Interface

The window — workspace now only has two options: Import and New.

You must not have done this, but it sounds like you did delete files in the subfolder workspaces of Krita’s resource folder. You can reach it via various ways, but the best known is probably via SettingsManage Resources...Open Resource Folder and there you went in or deleted the folder workspaces. Did you do that, or has someone else access to your PC that could have done this?

Hi, when I open the workspaces folder, I can still see the nine default workspace files inside. How can I restore the original workspaces? Thanks.

If they’re still there… Then import them?

If re-importing them into Krita does not work, you will need to delete your resource-database resourcecache.sqlite, Krita will rebuild it afterward. It is found at the end of your resource folder and can only be deleted when Krita is not running because Krita locks it while active.

After using the method you provided, my workspace has returned to normal now. Thank you. I will purchase a copy on Steam to show my support.

Thank you! You’re welcome!
I have to say that I’m happy that I were able to help you. And I am delighted that you want to support Krita in this way, which I never would have expected. You are very generous! Thank you!
