Hello everyone. I need some help.
I have used adobe illustrator for many years now and I have recently tested Krita to see if I could create good quality vector graphics. I am doing a new tutorial for my YouTube Channel and all is going well so far. But, now I am stumped and I really feel suddenly stupid… I cannot find a way to save my work in an SVG format. There are no SVG options as far as I can tell. So, dear Krita users and developers, how do you save your vector graphics?
And yes… I will definitely tell my viewers that I didn’t know how to do it. I owe them that level of honesty. LOL.
Hi @CelticCoco - If you want to produce .svg files then you can do:
Layer → Import/Export → Save Vector Layer as SVG
To bring .svg files into krita, use Layer → Import/Export → Import Layer.
Thanks, AhabGreybeard!!! Found it.
Jee… one can only wonder why they made this place so hard to find.
Couldn’t they have simplified things? Why can’t we just “SAVE AS” SVG? Just curious.
Cheers.
Corinne.
There would be complicated warnings needed if the image had mixed paint layer and vector layer content. I’m sure there are other good reasons but it is what it is and it works if you know how to use it
