I’m animating using the animation curves, and I intend to add a bezier curve between my keyframes.
I’ve selected the first keyframe by clicking on it, and I’ve then clicked the bezier curve symbol. This has worked before, giving me a grey handle over the top of my keyframe which I can move to alter the curve. However, I now suddenly can’t do this, as when I click the button, nothing happens. I’ve restarted my laptop and updated Krita, but nothing has helped.
As mentioned before, I have been able to use this feature in the past, but it’s suddenly stoped working.
Thanks
It would be very interesting to know how you did it before because from what I can see the feature request for having animated vectors (and vector layers) is still open, therefore animating a bezier curve (in vector mode at least) is should not be possible at the moment nor in the past. Or do you mean something different?
Never mind you probably mean the bezier interpolation, I was thinking of the bezier curve tool (the one that is used to draw).
Do you still have your old projects where it worked and can double check if it suddenly doesn’t anymore?
For me it works normally, but I noticed that the handles for the curve spawn directly on top of the keyrame point and is therefore hard (or honestly impossible) to see. When clicking on the small point where the keyframe is and then holding and dragging I can can get hold of the handles and move them away from the initial point.
Every time I use Bezier interpolation on Animation Curves keyframes, I have to relearn how they work and how to control and manipulate them.
You have to select a keyframe control point first and then press the icon for Bezier curve interpolation.
If a keyframe control point tuns grey when you click it, that means it has a Bezier handle available that can be dragged out and used.
Sometimes, two Bezier handles are available as indicated by clicking the keyframe control point when a Bezier handle is already out and the control point turns grey again.
If a keyframe has only one Bezier handle, it gets another one if you enable an adjacent keyframe for Bezier curve interpolation.
If you do Shift+click then you can select more than one keyframe before you press the icon to enable Bezier curve interpolation. The number of Bezier control handles you get in that situation seems to depend on whether or not there is another keyframe control point adjacent to the keyframe on both sides of it or if it is at the end of a sequence.
It’s confusing but it does work.
I do indeed mean the bezier interpolation, and I haven’t made many projects with the animation feature yet, so don’t have any projects with it working I don’t think.
It was just that on the project I’m on now, I tested out the feature and then ended up removing it, and in trying to do it again it just doesn’t show up.
I know what you mean about the dot, and I would’ve noticed if it was like that but there was no indication anywhere that there was a handle, even after clicking the button multiple times and moving the keyframe etc
