I can't seem to keep drawing or edit the drawing I was making, please help T∆T

Hello, I’m new in with krita and digital drawing in general so I really would appreciate any help I can get. Yesterday I was drawing on krita (the lates version of krita on a windows surface go) and decided to finish the drawing the next day (today) so I saved it as a krita file and also as a png (just in case), I enter today and choose the drawing to keep on working on it, it opens and everything seems fine but I don’t get any strokes? Like I made sure I’m on the rigth (unlocked) layer, with a brush and color selected but as much as I pass my stylus or my finger on the screen, I don’t get any stroke. I opened a new drawing and this one did let me draw so I guess the problem is with that specific drawing, but even though, I’ve done this before (working on a drawing the next day) without any problem. I don’t know what to do, please help (Q∆Q) thank you.

Try this

This is the most common reason why people suddenly can’t draw. Maybe it was an accidental selection? Sometimes my brush strokes does not appear, and it takes me a while before I realize I forgot to deselect hehe

Welcome to the forum btw!

Thanks so much but it didn’t work :'c

Can you post a .png fullscreen screenshot taken at the time you’re trying to paint on a layer?

hey I’ve had that problem, so what I did was I grabbed the selection tool and just touched any part of the canvas so that any selection would be undone, and it worked

Try this:

Change it to Windows 8+ Pointer Input (Windows Ink) if it’s not already done, then click “OK” (not canel), close Krita, restart you computer and then try to draw!

have you tried to select another brush and select your old brush again?

Which version are you using? And try to do this this way: first Select -> Select All, and then Select -> Deselect. There was a bug where there was a Schrodinger’s selection, only Deselect would do nothing but users still couldn’t draw. It should be fixed now in 4.3.0.
